Weight Loss Tips Cooking Multiple Meals

So I do not too too many people who just have too much free time on their hands.  Most people I know are super busy and their schedule is basically pushed to the limit.  At the same time most people I know also try really hard to eat very healthy home cooked meals as often as they can.  So today lets talk about a great strategy that will help save you some time.

What we will talk about today is how you can cook multiple meals at the same time.  Specifically today I am going to focus on using the same ingredients as well.  See I normally have no problems eating the same food over and over again.  I could eat burgers, meat loaf, chicken pot pie all day every day and never get bored.  I actually might be happier!  BUT since variety is the spice of life lets talk about how we can cook a lot of food and put it together to create a bunch of very healthy meals.

So I thought about writing this last night while my wife was cooking. She was making chicken sausage, peppers, onions and broccoli.  I skipped out on this great meal so she there was definitely going to be a bunch of leftovers. We started talking about how we can use all of those left overs to make some great omelettes this weekend.  That got me thinking about some of the other foods I commonly cook that I reuse later in different meals.

So here are a few that I do and hopefully this gets you thinking up your own ideas that will save you time.

  • Meatloaf – eat it that night then use it for sandwiches to take to work.
  • Burgers – leftovers can go in wraps, cut up for hoagies, fajitas, even stir fry or cut in half and then put on egg sandwiches.  Kinda strange but I love burgers and cook a lot of them.
  • Steaks – cut up for stir fry, sandwiches, egg sandwiches, fajitas.
  • Fish – cook extra and save them for fish tacos
  • Chicken – honestly endless possibilities and one of the easiest foods to cook in bulk

Again these are just some of the foods I will cook in bulk and save to put into different meals later in the week.  If you don’t like the idea of cold meatloaf sandwiches well I feel bad for you but then try to think of some of the food you commonly cook and just cook it in bulk and use the left overs to make up a new meal.

This will save you a lot of time, money and hopefully stop you from eating unhealthy food.  The most common reason for having a bad meal is not having food prepped or the time to cook it.  If you start doing this even one or two times a week you will have some extra time and you will know that you have good food ready to go.  I didn’ t talk about freezing any of this but a lot of food can be cooked and then frozen so you can save it for a much longer period of time.  Then all you have to do is remember to defrost it the night before.

Good Luck and let me know if you have any favorite foods that you us in multiple meals or if this post gave you some ideas that you want to try out!
