Three Key Strategies For Weight Loss Success.

Today I would like to share with you three very important weight loss strategies that I have been using this summer to help keep me on track. I know it can be hard to stick with a diet or follow a meal plan or count calories so I wanted to share some tips with you that I use that do not involve anything like that because I know these tips will help you lose weight and not drive you crazy either.

The first tip I want to share is nothing new but I just can not stress it enough. DRINK MORE WATER. Just start drinking more water. This is simple and free and will make everything else involved in losing weight easier and easier on you. It is also June full on summer weather in the area and that just means that this tip is even more important right now. Don’t wait until you are thirsty. Drink water consistently throughout the day. Start the day with a large glass of water and just keep going from there.

Another tip I want to share today just involves trying to become more active. I am not suggesting doubling the amount of times you go running or going to the gym a few extra times a week. I am just suggesting that you try to increase your overall activity level. Stop using elevators, watch less television, go for more walks, get outside more often, use the back of the parking lot. Anything you can do to that has you moving around instead of sitting still is a good thing if you are trying to lose weight. Personally I just like to walk more. Simple. I take the dog for more walks, I go hiking, I just try to walk as much as I can. It may seem small but it does add up.

Something else that I do which really helps me stay on track is to plan all my snacks. When I am doing my meal planning for the week or when I am making up my shopping list I make sure that I plan the snacks. I generally have at least two small snacks everyday. Sometimes more. I just make sure they are healthy and do not derail my weight loss plan. Some of my favorite snacks this time of year are fruits. I buy a lot of grapes, apples and bananas. They are very easy to eat at work or in the car which is a nice added bonus.

So that is it for today. I know that these tips might not be huge or seem like they are all that important but they really help everything else fall into place. Sometimes it is good to make drastic changes like stop eating carbs, go on a crazy diet, start a new workout program or whatever it may be. But in the end you really need to create a lifestyle that you can maintain because that will not only help you lose the weight it will make sure that once you lose it the weight will stay off.
